Always great, interesting books about the men and the machines that make international motorsports the “center of the universe” for people with a passion for things that go fast and make the pulse race!

About David Bull Publishing

David Bull Publishing was founded by Massachusetts native David Bull on Patriot’s Day, April 19, 1995 with the goal of producing the highest quality motorsports books—well written, beautifully designed, and produced to the highest standards.

Our company’s first book, Sebring: The Official History of America’s Great Sports Car Race, was named Book of the Year by the American Auto Writing and Broadcasters Association. Every year since then our books have consistently received excellent reviews and won awards, including the prestigious Dean Batchelor Award, the Motor Press Guild’s Best Book Award, as well as several gold and silver medals from the Independent Book Publishers Association.

Our dedication to quality has earned us opportunities to work with some of the best and most exciting racers, sanctioning bodies, and manufacturers. Among these legendary racers are Mario Andretti, Vic Elford, and the late Dan Gurney. We have published official histories of the Daytona 24 Hours, the Daytona 500, the Baja 1000, and Sebring. We have also produced incisive, behind-the-scenes books with Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, Honda, Ducati, and Suzuki.

In the Spring of 2021, Founder David Bull passed away following a long illness. David’s legacy, tremendous personality, and attention to detail lives on through his company, his associates and his children. His family was and is astonished (as David would say), at the extraordinary love and support shown to him and them by the motorsport community.

David had asked his sister, Maria Bull, who had also worked for David Bull Publishing, to lead the transition to new ownership, in the event of his passing, so that the extraordinary legacy he built could continue into the future. In the years prior to his death, David had published books with PacWest Racing’s founder and race car driver Bruce McCaw. David worked closely with Bruce’s business manager, and motorsports enthusiast, Jeff Anderson of Pistol Creek Company, as well as Maria, in managing the company’s book projects over many years prior to his passing. In 2022, an agreement was reached to transition the future of David Bull Publishing to Bruce McCaw’s organization, under the leadership of Jeff Anderson, and his team at Pistol Creek Co.

We now figuratively and literally turn the page to a new era for David Bull Publishing. Our first releases in the post-David era are the special editions of Luca Dal Monte’s incredible biography Enzo Ferrari: Power, Politics, and the Making of an Automotive Empire. In 2025 we released Randy Leffingwell’s Against All the Others: Porsche’s Racing History, Volume 1 - 1968, On The Prowl: The Definitive History of the Walkinshaw Jaguar Sports Car Team by Neil Smith, and Ferrari in America: Luigi Chinetti and the North American Racing Team by Michael Lynch with Janos Wimpffen. In 2025, we released volumes IV (1980-1989) and V (1990-1999) of Twice Around the Clock, The Yanks at Le Mans, by Tim Considine.

We look forward to continuing to release titles that meet the standards David Bull set when he first started business in 1995.

No matter what the subject, all our books reflect the enthusiasm and award-winning effort that our authors, editors, and designers put into each project that result in some of the highest quality motorsports books in the world. As always, we unconditionally guarantee your satisfaction.
