Against All the Others: Porsche's Racing History, Volume 3 - 1970, records the year's accomplishments, including the Typ 917's transformation from racetrack wild card to World Champion. It earned the trust of its drivers while it continued to intimidate the competition. Its aerodynamics and road holding improved beyond expectations, allowing steely-eyed drivers Vic Elford and Rolf Stommelen to take the Mulsanne Straight kink flat out at 380 km/h, 235 mph. Porsche's Typ 908 family added the potent 908/03 Spyder, a winner almost from its first outing. The 914/6s achieved success in rallies and endurance contests. The 911s retained their international GT titles, even as the FIA eliminated them from the SCCA Trans-Am series and the British Touring Car Championship.

Volume 3 continues the highly detailed examination of engineering development, and racing venues and series through 128 individual competition and testing reports from drivers, engineers, mechanics, managers, and outside observers in their own words. These and hundreds of photos provide perspective into 1970's battles on front-straights and in back rooms that brought Porsche its second World Manufacturer's Championship and first Le Mans triumph.
