They are Mark’s friends and colleagues, the legendary driver and team owner Roger Penske, and longtime Penske Racing Crew Chief Karl Kainhofer; his Penske Racing teammates, drivers Sam Posey and George Follmer; and his sons, Michael and David. read more >

The Publisher’s Edition also features a 40-minute audio CD of Mark describing how he got his breakthrough professional drive with Ford and the Holman-Moody team for the 1966 Daytona 24 Hours. It’s thrilling to hear the emotion and enthusiasm in his voice as he recounts the circumstances and people involved in the GT40 he shared with Walt Hansgen. Mark made this recording in late 1973 or early 1974 as one of nearly 40 tapes he produced for the raw material that became The Unfair Advantage. David Donohue, who won the Daytona 24 Hours in 2009, provides the introduction.
